Skills for Life

Welcome to Matrix Explorer Scout Unit

Matrix Explorer Scout Unit accepts young people aged 14-18 years of age from around the Aylesbury area and works closely with all the Scout Groups in Aylesbury District. Matrix currently has 60 members. We offer a diverse youth shaped programme which includes different optional elements such as the Explorer Scout/Duke of Edinburgh’s Award schemes and the Young Leader Scheme in addition to our core programme.

We encourage all our young people to develop by supporting them on their journey to adulthood, and giving them opportunities to enhance their leadership and organisational skill. Along with developing #Skills for life such as being able to plan a menu, cook a meal and navigate with a map and compass along with many others.

We have an Executive Committee made up of eight Explorer Scouts who are elected by their peers. The Executive Committee work with the Leadership Team in the creation of our programme, review the units constitution, as well as assisting in the running of our weekly meetings.

Our aim is to support our Explorer Scouts to become productive members of their local, national and international communities.

By exploring this website you will find more information on our forthcoming events as well as news updates and pictures of past events.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
